Our GO-TO Source

Our GO-TO Source

The reason I share this with you is the wonder I felt today at remembering how simple it was to receive divine help by just asking. We can call it being “conscious” or “going within,” or hearing that “still small voice.” As long as we can be receptive and expecting (faith) then we have a great “go to” source of help available to us.

Joy Unspeakable

Joy Unspeakable

This morning I was listening to a teaching by Michael Mirdad recorded at Unity of Sedona The subject was defining and understanding the difference between joy and happiness. Joy is experienced while being in and of the presence of God (by any name or label) and so it is a deeper, more fulfilling emotion. Joy is also a more powerful emotion than happiness because as Michael explained, it will come back to you once you are responsible for igniting it in others. Happiness on the other hand is based on things, places, people in our lives; a good thing for sure and actually a companion to joy. At the end of his teaching, Michael instructed his audience to “center in” remembering a time when they did or said something to someone in the past that evoked joy to that...

Joy to the World, Peace on Earth

Joy to the World, Peace on Earth

As I anticipate the ending of this year and the arrival of 2015, my thoughts have taken me to the most glorious gift the world has ever received: the birth of the Christ child –  the word Christ simply means “anointed one” and Jesus of Nazareth was truly anointed. Jesus called the Source of All That Is, “Abba” (a term we would call our papa or our daddy). That is because we are sired or born out of our Creator God. “Like begets like,” and Jesus wanted us to know that we are begotten children. Animals beget animals; humans beget humans and gods begat gods. It just means we are of the...

Thanksgiving Thoughts and a Tragic Death

Thanksgiving Thoughts and a Tragic Death

They have a higher vibration of light and our words do not return to us void. Whatever we say and think transforms us into something either good or bad, and also those who read or receive our words On my mind today is a prayer that the protesting and angry African American community will begin to see themselves as just Americans as I believe the majority of us all do. Instead of setting themselves apart I hope they will recognize that most of their fellow Americans are trying to include them as wanting what we all want: a good and decent...
